Andrea Plaid
Andrea Plaid intended to be a writer. The native Toledoan earned her Bachelor of Liberal Studies degree from Bowling Green State University in Bowling Green, Ohio. She did stints as a reporter for the Toledo Journal and Catholic Chronicle. She freelanced for HUES: Hear Us Emerging Sisters, a now-defunct Third Wave-feminist magazine, and Toledo City Paper.

Then Andrea's muse changed directions. Currently, Andrea studies interior design at Davis College in Toledo and creates masquerade masks. "Masks," she states, "are nothing more than what we want the world to see (and believe) about us, a visual mythology. They offer us opportunities to become someone else or a better (or worse) part of ourselves. I make masks for the same reasons."
